Step into a bold reimagining of one of the world’s most iconic stories.
Monstrous Theatre, Neil Gooding Productions, and Shalom Collective present Anne Being Frank, the award-winning solo play by acclaimed playwright Ron Elisha, arrives in Australia following rave reviews Off-Broadway and a successful U.S. tour. This powerful new production will make its Australian debut at the Sydney Opera House for one week only, from 13 to 21 September 2025.
A Story Rewritten – This captivating solo work transports audiences across three imagined worlds:
  • The secret annex in Amsterdam where Anne and her family are in hiding
  • The horrors of Bergen-Belsen, where Anne lives out her final days
  • A speculative future in a New York publishing house, where Anne, now alive and grown, prepares to publish her diary
In this daring new version, Anne is not only a symbol of innocence but a survivor with a voice — sharp, determined, and unfiltered. As her editor pleads to preserve the purity of the original text, Anne insists on telling the whole truth.
Starring Alexis Fishman, who masterfully brings five characters to life across four accents, Anne Being Frank has earned standing ovations and critical acclaim, winning the 2023 Broadway World Awards for Best Off-Broadway Solo Performance and Best Off-Broadway Production of a Play.
